This family had outgrown both the style and the space of their 21 year old house. With an addition of approximately 530 square feet, a major overhaul on the configuration of the main living space this couple felt like they had moved into a brand new home. The new entry with a larger door and wider hallway made for a much more welcoming space. The reshaped kitchen, eating area created a larger and more functional entertaining space including an 11′ Walnut and sap wood butcher block island top. The living room expanded into what was previously a hallway, received new shiplap and beam ceiling, and utilized wallpaper and speaker fabric on the TV wall to hide everything but the Frame TV. The new owner suite features his and her closets with custom built-ins. And perhaps the most stunning piece of the entire project is the owners bathroom with an Ipe feature wall, true walk in shower, indirect lighting, and a private outdoor shower directly accessed from the bathroom. The bathroom design goal was to create a spa mood and bring the feeling of an outdoor shower inside. Really an incredible space.
